Guide
AI memory is not the same as chat history.
Chat history records what happened. AI memory can influence what a system assumes the next time you arrive.
Chat history is usually a record: the messages, files, and answers that appeared in a conversation. It can be useful for audit, reference, or returning to an old thread.
AI memory is different. It is selected or inferred context that may be carried forward beyond one conversation. It can shape tone, recommendations, priorities, and what the system thinks you are likely to want.
That difference matters because a record can be long without being active. Memory is active. It can steer the next answer even when you are no longer looking at the original conversation.
A healthy AI memory layer should make three things clear: what is remembered, why it matters, and whether it should still be allowed to travel.
Ownesis is being shaped around that boundary: less hidden context, more visible choice, and a calmer relationship between people and AI.
